The IFI Zen Air Can headphones amplifier comes with three gain configurations so that it works well with each pair of diadem or internal monitor type headphones (also known as IEM).
What is gain? The gain in audio terms refers to the ability of an amplifier to increase the amplitude (size) of the signal from the source (input) to the headphones or speakers (output). More gain is equivalent to a stronger signal.
You must adjust the gain according to the sensitivity of the headphones of diadem or in-in-the monitor IEM you are using. For example, high sensitivity headphones need a lower gain. Play with the configuration. Trust your ears.

The IFI Zen Air Can has two different headphones shots: Jack 6.3 mm of a single end and minijack 4.4 mm balanced S-Balanced.
Basically, there are two types of headphones: with a single end of a single end and balanced connector. In a nutshell, those of a single extreme are the most common, but the balanced option is often considered better, since it offers more power and control of the headphones.
In Ifi, we know that not everyone has balanced headphones, so we have created our S-Balanced technology. This gives you all the benefits of a balanced connection: less noise, less diaphonia, but without the need to acquire balanced headphones.
