The missing link

The iFi GO Link is the missing link in your listening experience.

Firstly, it will allow wired in-ear and over-ear headphones to connect to digital devices (smartphones, tablets, etc.) that do not have a 3.5mm headphone output.

Second, even if your device has a headphone jack, the iFi GO Link offers a great sound upgrade. That's because its sophisticated DAC (digital-to-analog converter) and headphone amplifier circuitry are superior to the audio technology contained in smart devices and computers.

At one end of the iFi GO Link is a USB Type-C connector, and at the other is the DAC circuit and headphone amplifier, both housed in sturdy but lightweight magnesium alloy casings.

In the middle is a 6cm long flexible cable – this helps with practicality as it allows the DAC/amplifier section to angle towards the listener and reduces strain on the USB port that the iFi GO Link is connected to.

The DAC is the ticket

At the heart of the iFi GO Link is a high-performance, low-power DAC chip from ESS Technology's Saber HiFi series, the ESS ES9219MQ/Q, which benefits from the 32-bit HyperStream III architecture.

This combines with Quad DAC+ and Time Domain Jitter Eliminator technologies, plus our dedicated clock circuit using a specialized crystal oscillator, to deliver ultra-low distortion, excellent clarity and impressive dynamic range.

Rarely implemented high-end features such as adjustable analog gain with DRE (Dynamic Range Enhancer) plus technologies to minimize THD (Total Harmonic Distortion) and crosstalk are possible due to the advanced specification of the DAC chip.

It is also possible to choose from a selection of digital filters through downloadable software.

The cable joining both sections uses silver-plated copper conductors with individual polymer insulation in a "twisted pair" configuration.

This rotary twist helps optimize inductance and capacitance and also aids in noise rejection. The sound of the iFi GO Link is not affected by electromagnetic interference picked up by nearby electrical sources.

No distortion means you're ready to dance without any hassle.

Move with the music

Unlike other headphone dongles, the GO Link doesn't rely on software-based volume controls on connected digital devices. This may negatively affect the audio resolution.

Instead, adjusting the volume on the connected device controls the volume level on the GO Link DAC, not on your smartphone, tablet, or computer. This hardware-based volume control is another feature that helps deliver the iFi GO Link's superior audio performance.

GO Link's high-resolution audio credentials are very impressive given its diminutive size and price.

Headphone paradise

The GO Link's headphone amplifier powers a gold-plated 3.5mm jack, which features our S-Balanced configuration to reduce noise and crosstalk.

It offers a power output of 70 mW at 32 ohms and a maximum voltage output of 2.05 V at 600 ohms. This gives it plenty of oomph to drive the kind of in-ear and over-ear headphones you're likely to use with the GO Link, and easily outperforms the headphone outputs built into smart devices and computers.

DRE Dynamic Range Enhancement

In music production, dynamic range means the difference between the loudest and softest sounds. It is measured in decibels, or dB for short. In a single audio track, dynamic range means the difference in dB between the highest and lowest moment of the audio file.

You can think of a system's dynamic range as the space between the noise floor and the clipping point. When a sound drops below the noise floor, you will not be able to tell the difference between the signal and the noise of the media system. When a sound exceeds the clipping point, the top of its waveform will be abruptly cut off, causing harshness and distortion.

iFi's patented technology expands the dynamic range by 6 dB or more, for a better listening experience.

S-Balanced Performance

iFi's exclusive S-Balanced circuitry delivers maximum performance from both XLR and single-ended balanced headphones, especially for balanced in-ear headphones.

TDK Capacitors

TDK C0G (Ceramic Class 1) capacitors offer high stability and low losses for resonant circuit applications.

Increasingly closer to the theoretical ideal of pure constant frequency capability, these capacitors reduce capacitor-induced distortion to extremely low levels.

They are expensive, but they are a perfect complement to our products.

Murata Capacitors

MuRata control type high Q, low ESR multilayer capacitors. The "ESR control" aspect of the Murata is something special. Its noise suppression capabilities are impressive.
